What was your biggest takeaway from Geotab Connect 2026?

#fleet-events#telematics

My sales team and I just got back from Geotab Connect 2026 and we all agree we got a lot out of it. Curious to hear what others took away from it. Sadly couldn’t attend all the sessions, but here were our favorite parts: - The expanding software capabilities are exciting-- especially Geotab Extract. This year we sent mostly salespeople, and next year we will have to have some of our IT department join. - Like most, our team discussed the new joint venture with Vitality for the gamified safety. Very curious to hear everyone's thoughts on this. We had a great time at Geotab. Looking forward to reading other highlights.

I spent three days at Geotab Connect 2026, where the conversation kept circling back to how AI + high-quality fleet data are driving real gains in safety, efficiency, and sustainability. The biggest takeaway for me was that Geotab wasn’t pitching “AI hype”—they were anchoring everything in data quality and practical workflows, backed by new AI-powered product announcements and refreshed GO/GO Plus device direction aimed at enabling better analytics. The show floor was excellent and gave insights into the depth of solutions available.

Lots of conversations around OEM integrations. I especially enjoyed the session on how OEM integrations is shaping the future of telematics. Challenges exist between the 13 different OEMs and Geotab--each OEM has different activation processes, login systems, certifications, and data structures. These operational complexities, inconsistent standards, and data overload remain real barriers. The opportunity is enormous, but execution is everything. The future of telematics is data-rich but success will depend less on data volume and more on integration and disciplined use-case execution. The real winners will be those who translate massive data streams into focused, high-impact operational use cases.

During my time at GeoTab Connect 2026, AI and high-quality data intelligence were introduced as driving forces behind the future of fleet operations, enabling predicative insights, proactive safety management, and smarter decision-making processes. There was also very exciting next-generation telematics hardware introduced, designed to help fleets reduce risk, enhance driver coaching, and improve real-time visibility. Additionally, as I sat in on expert panel sessions and showcases, they emphasized how connected technology and integrated systems can enhance productivity, sustainability, operational efficiency and overall fleet performance.

Great week out in Vegas at the Annual GEOTAB CONNECT conference. One of the big takeaways from the conference was learning more about the use cases of GEOTAB’s AI tool, Geotab Ace. This AI tool is a generative artificial intelligence assistant built directly into the MyGeotab telematics platform that lets fleet managers interact with their fleet data using natural language instead of complex dashboards or manual queries. By simply asking questions in everyday language, Ace instantly delivers actionable, data-backed insights across safety, maintenance, fuel efficiency and more — all powered by advanced AI models and GEOTAB’s rich telematics data. Designed with enterprise-grade security and privacy, it stays within GEOTAB’s secure environment and helps teams make faster, smarter decisions without needing SQL skills or deep analytics expertise. #gamechanger

I'm really excited about Geotab Ace! These are the types of AI enhancements that will truly change how we work. Lots of people are talking about time savings, but think about the reduced friction for analyzing complex data! With Geotab Ace, there is a reduced barrier to entry. If you can articulate your question, you can get an answer. This empowers fleet managers and their teams!

I've been attending Geotab Connect since 2020, and this was easily the best Geotab Connect or telematics event I've ever attended. Geotab is listening to customers and partners by offering new bundled hardware solutions featuring AI cameras with in-vehicle driver coaching. This is a game-changer! Fleets are more inclined than ever to be proactive with safety. Geotab is also enabling companies that want to “dip their toe” into telematics by offering a new Essentials plan that replaces the popular Base plan from years ago. There are many telematics solutions on the market today; Geotab should be part of any telematics evaluation.

Geotab Connect shed a ton of light on camera applications in fleet vehicles. It was interesting to see the multiple solutions. For example, road facing, road and in-cab facing and a dynamic camera that included up to 5 additional cameras that can be placed on different areas of the vehicle. Regardless of the application, the integration into telematics and with AI is incredible. I would love to hear what the conversation is with other fleets on implementing a camera program? How has it gone over with leadership and with drivers?
