Gas Prices Drop Nationwide Amid Economic Concerns and Falling Oil Prices

Gasoline prices across the U.S. dropped by 4 cents to an average of $3.44 per gallon at the start of August, down 38 cents from last year. The decrease is attributed to a poor jobs report and declining oil prices. While Tropical Storm Debby poses minimal risk to refineries, gasoline prices are expected to continue gently declining, though rising Middle East tensions could impact this trend. Diesel prices are also down, with the Gulf Coast seeing the largest drop. Mississippi holds the lowest gas price at $2.95 per gallon.
