Nissan Updates Fleet Ordering and Cancellation Policy
Nissan has announced that the 2027 Sentra SL is not available for fleet ordering. While the SL trim is not commonly selected by fleets, customers planning 2027 Sentra purchases should be aware that only eligible trim levels can be ordered through the fleet program.
Nissan also implemented an important change to its order management policy. Effective July 13, 2026, any vehicle with an estimated production date within 90 days can no longer be canceled. For fleet operators, this makes early order planning and specification accuracy even more important, as orders nearing production will become locked in. Fleets should carefully review vehicle configurations before submission and coordinate closely with their fleet management company to avoid unwanted orders or changes after the 90-day window begins.

IRS Increases Business Mileage Rate to 76 Cents Per Mile
The Internal Revenue Service has increased the 2026 standard business mileage reimbursement rate from 72.5 cents to 76 cents per mile, effective July 1, 2026. The 3.5-cent increase was driven primarily by higher fuel prices and marks only the fifth mid-year adjustment since 2000. While fuel costs prompted the change, the IRS mileage rate also accounts for vehicle ownership expenses such as maintenance, insurance, depreciation, and financing.
EV Market Cools in June as Used Inventory Continues to Grow
Electric vehicle sales slowed in June after a stronger May, with both new and used EV sales declining month over month. New EV sales fell 15.2% from May and accounted for 5.4% of all new-vehicle sales, while used EV sales declined 15.6% but remained more than 20% higher than a year ago. Tesla continued to lead the market, although Rivian was one of the few brands to post monthly sales gains. Inventory for new EVs increased modestly but remained well below year-ago levels, indicating manufacturers are continuing to manage production carefully. Meanwhile, the growing supply of off-lease and trade-in vehicles continues to expand the used EV market and improve affordability.
