At its 2025 Beyond conference in San Diego, Samsara unveiled its most expansive product launch to date, introducing a suite of AI-driven tools aimed at enhancing fleet safety and operational efficiency.
Highlights include AI-powered Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs), automated maintenance management, intelligent route planning, commercial navigation, and real-time weather response tools like Weather Intelligence and StreetSense.
The company also debuted a wearable device with emergency response features and extended its AI platform to include defensive driving recognition and 360-degree hazard detection through external cameras.
A redesigned Driver App now offers gamified training and personalized coaching, while an AI assistant helps managers identify and reward high-performing drivers.
Through its integration with HappyRobot, Samsara also enables fleets to automate customer communications using natural-sounding AI.
CEO Sanjit Biswas emphasized that AI’s transformative potential is already here, predicting a faster pace of change than seen with computers or smartphones.
Mohawk Industries, an early adopter, reported saving $8 million annually by using Samsara’s tools to streamline operations and reinvest in driver programs.
Texas Replaces Paper License Plates with Metal to Fight Fraud, Improve Safety
As of July 1, 2025, Texas has officially ended the use of temporary paper license plates. Instead, metal plates are now issued immediately to new vehicle buyers at the point of sale, a move aimed at improving officer safety and reducing fraud after widespread abuse of counterfeit paper tags—over 1.8 million were in circulation by 2021.
