Texas Toll Alert: NTTA Rate Hike Coming – Install Tags to Avoid Increased Costs
The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) will soon increase toll rates for vehicles without an NTTA toll tag, possibly starting July 1, 2025. This change could result in up to a 50% toll increase for non-tagged vehicles.
Impact on Fleets:
Fleets using Verra Mobility’s Toll Management solution in Texas must now install NTTA transponder tags to maintain current discounted toll rates. Previously, the program didn’t require tags, which simplified fleet management and reduced costs.
Recommended Actions for Fleets:
- Notify your account representative to opt in for toll tags.
- Receive tags at your address on record.
- Install the tags promptly per included instructions to avoid higher tolls.
Costs and Benefits:
- Each toll tag comes with a one-time delivery and activation fee, which is minimal compared to potential toll increases.
- Savings from each tag generally offset the cost after 10–25 toll trips.
- NTTA toll tags can also be used for parking at DFW and Dallas Love Field airports.
Next Steps:
Contact your Account Manager to ensure a smooth transition and avoid increased toll charges.
