Heading home from an informational and engaging couple of days in Phoenix with Toyota's Fleet team! Toyota has a diverse mix of powertrains across their lineup, including ICE, HEV, PHEV and BEV, and their acquisition cost, resale value, safety technology and refreshed lineups have made them incredibly popular over the last few years. I was most interested in whether they would share a solution for their inability to produce enough vehicles to meet demand. They acknowledged the predicament for fleets and while nothing changes overnight, they are already at 100% production capacity and announced Toyota is investing an additional $10B in their plants over the next five years to increase production. Until then, fleets need to plan ahead and be ready in advance of order start dates. I know I visit Fleet Insights daily for valuable production information!
