Commercial fleets drove fleet sales growth in February, posting the largest increase among the three fleet sectors, according to data released March 3 by Bobit Business Media. Rental fleet sales rose slightly, while government fleet sales declined.

Commercial fleet sales reached 70,044 vehicles in February, a 14.1% increase from 61,368 vehicles sold during the same month last year. Rental fleets saw a modest gain of 1.1%, rising from 116,139 vehicles in February 2025 to 117,442 last month. Government fleet sales fell 8.9%, dropping to 16,744 vehicles from 18,383 a year earlier. The decline may be partly due to four of the seven major Asian automakers not reporting government fleet numbers for the month.

Overall, total fleet sales for February reached 204,230 vehicles, up 4.3% compared to 195,890 in February 2025. Year-to-date sales also remained positive, with 365,292 vehicles sold in January and February combined, a 3.3% increase over the same period last year.

The data was compiled by Bobit Business Media using sales figures from the Detroit Three automakers, the Asian Big 7 manufacturers, and Volkswagen. The totals include cars, SUVs, and trucks.
