Next-Generation Toyota Corolla Expected for 2028MY
Toyota is expected to introduce a significantly redesigned Corolla in 2027, likely for the 2028 model year. The next generation is expected to feature updated styling, a more modern interior, and a reworked platform capable of supporting multiple powertrains.
Unlike the hybrid-only Camry and RAV4, the Corolla is expected to retain a traditional gas option while also offering hybrid and, for the first time, plug-in hybrid powertrains. The new hybrid is expected to use a 1.5-liter engine and could deliver a 10%–20% improvement in efficiency. Toyota is also reportedly developing an electric Corolla, although U.S. availability has not been confirmed.
For fleets, maintaining the Corolla's affordable pricing will be especially important. With the current gas model starting around $25,000 and the hybrid around $27,000, the redesigned Corolla could continue to provide fleets with a lower-cost alternative to increasingly popular compact SUVs. Final specifications, pricing, fleet availability, and powertrain offerings have not yet been confirmed.
2027 Nissan Rogue Adds e-Power Hybrid
Nissan is introducing its third-generation e-Power hybrid system in the redesigned 2027 Rogue, giving its best-selling model a hybrid option for the first time in the U.S. The Rogue Hybrid launches in November, followed by the gasoline version next summer. Pricing starts at $37,065 in the U.S. and C$42,845 in Canada, including shipping.
