Volvo to Drop Most Sedans and Wagons, Focus on Crossovers and Key EVs in U.S.

Volvo Cars will phase out its low-volume sedans and wagons in the U.S., discontinuing the S90 sedan and V60 wagon after the 2026 model year, while retaining only the raised V60 and V90 Cross Country wagons as non-SUV offerings.

Amid declining EV demand and the upcoming end of federal incentives on Sept. 30, Volvo has also halted U.S. sales of its EC40 electric crossover but will keep the larger EX40 for 2026 and focus future EV efforts on the smaller, more affordable EX30.

The brand will prioritize its gasoline-powered and hybrid XC40, XC60, and XC90 crossovers, which made up 85% of its U.S. sales in the first half of the year.
