Stellantis Unveils Growth Plan Focused on Affordable Vehicles and Core Truck Brands
Stellantis has announced its new FastLane 2030 strategy, a five-year plan aimed at reversing declining sales and profits through major investments in new products, manufacturing, and technology. The automaker plans to invest nearly $70 billion globally, launch 60 new vehicles, and refresh 50 existing models by 2030. For North America, the focus will be on affordable vehicles, with seven all-new models expected to start below $40,000 and two priced under $30,000. Fleet buyers can also expect continued investment in key brands such as Jeep and Ram, which account for the majority of the company’s U.S. sales.
The strategy signals a shift away from an aggressive EV rollout and toward a more balanced powertrain mix that includes hybrids, extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), and traditional internal combustion engines. Stellantis plans to expand U.S. manufacturing capacity by 50% over the next four years, adding new truck and SUV production while increasing plant utilization. The company is also prioritizing cost control and operational efficiency as it works toward stronger profitability. For fleets, the plan points to a broader selection of affordable trucks and SUVs, increased production capacity, and a continued emphasis on hybrid technologies that can help balance operating costs and vehicle range.
